Lost and Found on the Celtic Cross Trail

Words and photos by Ambassador Tim Wiggins.

It wasn’t until I was lost for strength, in a strange hotel on the most remote west coast of Ireland; having just ridden 214 kilometres through the worst storm I could imagine (fourteen hours of a Force 9 headwind!), that I finally found the strength to admit defeat. I sat on the bed with a JetBoil full of pasta — too tired and late for the restaurant, and looked at options to re-route myself away from the Wild Atlantic Way — this time, it was just a bit too wild. The helplessness of being devoid of strength or a desire to continue was overruled by a passion to keep bike riding. I re-routed. I found sunshine, beautiful mountains, ice-cream, tailwinds, and burritos… great things come to those that want to find it.

Kona Dream Builds: Garry’s Show Stopping Process

Irish Rep Garry Davoren is no stranger to the Kona Dreambuilds, having already put together a few classics. That said, his all new Sram AXS Eagle equipped Process 29er could be his finest to date!

It would be safe to say that no expense has been spared on this particular build. The top of the range Wireless Sram Groupset is paired with their Wireless Reverb Dropper post for that extra clean, cable free look.

Garry has kept the stock suspension, although swapped out the Black Rockshox Lyrics for a set with the colour matched Red lowers.

Being a Hope fanatic, the Red wasn’t going to stop there! You’ll notice the Stem, Brake Levers, Rotors, Calipers, Chainring, Chain Guide and Seat Clamp all tie in nicely with this build. Even the Ergon Saddle, Crankbrothers Pedals & Tacx Bottle Cage get the Red treatment also.

Garry has also spec’d some serious Wheels for this build. Reynolds Carbon Rims built onto Industry Nine Hubs make for a lightweight but incredibly strong pair to get him rolling.

The all new Maxxis Assegai Tyres will no doubt be giving him all the grip he needs too!

Garry’s first ride on the Process was out in Serfaus, Austria for the 2020 Dealer Launch. Looks like the Bike wasn’t holding him back at all . . . .

Time to Travel: A Rad Bike Adventure

Kona Ambassador Ryan Lindsay Bartz has been on an around-the-world adventure aboard her Sutra. she put together this cool little video of some of her favorite places she’s been so far.

“The first 6 months of a trip around the world consolidated into 3 minutes. Just a little ride through time with my two best friends (my partner and my bike!).”
