Kona’s Jimmy James reports: Well for starters June 2nd was National Trail Day. I knew the folks at Kona USA had the local trails up near Bellingham covered so I headed South to Eugene, OR to meet up w/Justin (co-owner of Kona dealer Life Cycle Bike Shop), the local IMBA affiliated club Disciples of Dirt and IMBA’s trail crew. The Life Cycles crew have been telling me about these mystical mountain bike trails for awhile so what better day to lend a hand and see these trails first hand. For those who don’t know WhyPass is a success story for local trail access. Located about 30miles South of Eugene located near the town of of Lorane, OR. If its classic Pacific NW coastal lush forest you seek then this is place should be on your to ride list. (IMBA trail crew showing all proper tool handling).

The Desciples of Dirt are very serious about making the best trails possible. How many mountain bike clubs have their own mini gravel hauling tank. Oh, and if you happen to be in Eugene be sure to head over to Life Cycle Bike Shop.
