Can you guess what year this Humu was produced before I tore it apart and made it the ultimate bone crushing cruiser?
Look at it! Sexy ass green thing with cream and copper accents. I was inspired by the North American Hand Made Bicycle Show when I began to create my new Humu. I wanted something no one else had, but I also wanted a bike that could plough through almost anything and do it looking trick.

Cupper, our longtime warranty maven, reports on one wild ride
Here’s an oldie but a goodie on the fly. As a bonus I’ve tagged on a picture of the world’s biggest Kona fan.
Replacing bikes that break is a lot like being a vet or a dentist. People have a lot of emotion and cash invested in their rides, and one tiny misstep can lead to horrible consequences.
Sometimes you have to put a cherished puppy to sleep, other times you can just buff that mark right out, and sometimes you need to embark on an odyssey of discovery to figure out just how in the world someone could have done something like this to a poor innocent bicycle.

World Cups are the epitome of mountain bike racing at the highest level. This year in Mont Sainte Anne, the venue for the 2010 Mountain Bike World Championships, was no exception. With the industry factory pits, to the caliber of racers attending; it is really big show.
In attendance at this years event was Barry Wicks and Kris Sneddon on the Xc side and Joe “Smitty the Red” Smith racing on the Stab Supreme. Over the years Quebec has had a reputation for wet and greasy conditions to test the riders abilities as well as their mechanics knowledge in keeping the rigs up and running in such tough conditions and this year was no pop quiz.

When summer camp is mentioned in conversation, most people tend to wax poetically about their long-past experiences. Stories of marshmallow roasts and campfire sing-a-longs abound. When they dig deep into the memory vaults, repressed recollections of bugs, weird counselors and food poisoning also surface. I have mixed emotions when I think of my camp experiences. My less than social young personality (ie: shy, introverted) may have had something to do with it, but more than that it was the fact I could be at home playing on my bike, instead of eating tainted camp food or playing war games in the woods. Check out this gallery of hIrSch’s most recent travels in the Himalayas. He’s taken his Kona to the world’s highest high and cycled the topmost peaks.
