I have (finally) tasted victory and it tastes a lot like dirt. Well, mud really.
Sunday’s race was the seventh race in the Seattle Cyclocross Series and it was the muddiest mud-fest of all. The race, known as Woolley Cross, is located in Sedro Woolley, WA in the heart of Washington’s tulip territories. A unique aspect to this race is its location. The course weaves riders around the remnants of Washington’s oldest hospital – the Northern Hospital for the Insane built in 1912. An insanely muddy cyclocross course laid out for insane Northwest Washington racers at a place once reserved for the insane. Coincidence?

Last June Kona’s Mitch Scott and Freeride Entertainment’s Eric Crosland joined photographer Mattias Fredriksson in Bristol for a super mega week of photo shoots and filming. They shot everything: city commuting, trail riding, dirt jumping, factory team DH racer Joe Smith downhilling, road, cyclocross and more. Clump rider Grant “Chopper” Fielder has been a UK-wide school tour teaching kids about Freeriding and encouraging participation in sports. One of the schools that Grant visited made a short film of the day, this is one of the smaller schools that Chopper has visited in the last year, by the end of the winter he will have visited dozens of schools and seen thousands of kids.

After returning from a mid season training camp in Portugal, a refreshed Helen Wyman (Kona/FSA) returned to racing with a bang in Germany this weekend. Having never been to these two events before, it was a step into the unknown for the Belgian based Kona Pro, but it proved to be a great weekend.
