If you ever wonder how guys like Andreu Lacndeguy keep pushing the levels up further and further… it is by stepping up to the plate, growing a pair and hitting it out of the park. On your own terms. This is just a sampling of what he’s been doing in the down season. All of the shots are from his little big brother Lluis.
In an effort to expose ourselves (figuratively), the Kona marketing department has put together a glimpse into the Kona 2010 Art Campaign. Another piece in our on-going on-line magazine features, “Pedaltarian Posters” takes a look at how Kona’s internal agency found inspiration in themed poster art, and then turned that into a stunning and decidedly unique ad campaign.

Defending champion, Ryan Trebon puts in a gutsy silver medal performance in front of an impressive hometown crowd.
Bend, Oregon played the exuberant host for this years USA Cyclocross Nationals, with huge, boisterous crowds as is par for the course when it comes to CX in OR. After four days of serious racing shenanigans, final mens elite race race was one for the books.

Following on from her win in Italy on Tuesday, Kona FSA rider Helen Wyman rode to victory in Wetzikon, Switzerland today. With temperatures around –2 degrees, it was never going to be an easy day for any of the riders.
In the traditional setting in Wetzikon, which has staged many World Cup races, the snow began to fall as the riders started the early morning race. Two laps of the running track started affairs before the riders headed off-road and the first grassy climb of the day. Wyman took the initiative on this first incline, and it was Chainel that followed first. Behind them a gap quickly formed to the Swiss duo of Leumann and Achermann who were set to battle with each other for the duration of the race.
You may be able to bend a banana a bit but go too far and you’ll be sorry. Same goes for bicycles. All frames flex but it you go to far it won’t spring back. It also means bad news when you roll it into the bike shop as bending is a classic sign of an overload like a crash or other mishap.
With the way bikes are now, light and thin bending is rare. Most of the time instead of bending you’ll get a compression failure and wind up with something that looks like a crushed tin can. Once in a while though the planets can lineup to make something special happen.
Kona Clump rider Andreu Lacondeguy is featured in a new upcoming Red Bull movie, Momentum.

Saturday morning Wendy “suggested” that I skip the ROC run at Doumont as she did not want to be without the car. Instead we headed to Lindley Valley. We bumped into Donna who was out for a run (looking under-dressed in the cold weather). Marty decided he wanted to run with Donna and me….so we went off. Wendy decided her body did not want to walk very far so she did not…
At 11am Wendy asked if I had to go to the shop to cover Kathie from 12-1:30….again a “suggestion” that it might not be a good idea.
12:00 contractions started.
I was under strict instructions to call the mid wife when the contractions were 3 in 10 minutes or Wendy’s water broke. Stop watch in hand I started to take splits. I was not told that I could give the mid wife a heads up at any point just so they could adjust their day if needed….details.
