For the last six years Kona has been the title sponsor for the 24 Hours in the Old Pueblo, what has become one of the most revered 24-hour events in North America. Overture to the world championship-season: Opening Weekend at the Bikepark Leogang

Leogang, Salzburger Land, Austria, May 3rd 2012 – The bike outdoor season is about to start in only a few weeks, and also the Bikepark Leogang soon welcomes its first visitors. The mountain bike resort in the Salzburger Land will experience its most important season since the establishment in 2001 and it all begins with the traditional opening weekend in the mid of May. It is the prelude to an eventful year resulting in the season’s highlight at the end of August: The UCI Mountain Bike & Trials World Championships in Saalfelden Leogang.

The most important year starts with an extended opening weekend from May 16th to May 20th in the Bikepark Leogang. You got five entire days to get the rusty bones fit for the season and to check out the innovations in the park. Due to the upcoming UCI World Championships all nine trails from “Hangman” to “Terminator” had been completely reshaped. All downhill experts will get to meet some new interesting sections on the very demanding World Championship trail, making the notorious „Speedster“ a new experience, also for Leogang connoisseurs.
