Alex Stock Interview

“Long up front and short down the back like an opposite mullet is my ideal setup, for 2013 Kona have gone with this throughout the range, it’s satisfying to see small changes having a big effect. The Process is the culmination of a lot of R & D coupled with modern thinking and the geometry reflects this so as well as being a lot of fun it should be up there at the sharp end of the time sheets.” Read the full interview here

Mountain Bike Action Rides the Process: “So you think you’re tough?”

From Mountain Bike Action: There seems to be an unwritten mountain biking law that says if you ride a Kona with over 4 inches of travel, you are expected—no, required—to abuse it beyond reason. Kona owners expect their steeds to be tougher than they are, and complaining or whining is not tolerated. Kona seems to understand this better than anyone (maybe they wrote the unwritten law), and the all-new Process is built to keep the Kona loyalists happy—and hopefully welcome a bunch of new loyalists. The Jake Diaries #5 Part 2 – Rod Fountain

My next outing between the tape was to Round 11 at the legendary, but no less wet and muddy, Herne Hill Velodrome in SE London a blissful 10 minute cycle from my house. OK, so you don’t ride on the fabled banking, except down it to connect two horrifically muddy sections, but you definitely feel special and connected to the illustrious history of British cycling when you race there. The Jake Diaries #5 Part 1 – Rod Fountain

Adrenaline, alcohol and love make you say and do (or at least promise to) some pretty daft stuff. Just think about how this trinity of influences has changed the direction of your life over the years, for better or worse. Maybe the scars on your body are the result of amorous encounters but it’s more likely they’re from crashing bikes or doing bonkers stuff on the way home from the pub. Read More
