Kona Team mechanic Demo Dave reports: Last night we stayed at Kris Sneddon’s parents’ house in Sechelt and woke up to an amazing breakfast spread put out by his Mom. With very happy tummies we rolled down to the start line. Spencer was sporting his USA vest in celebration the 4th of July.
Today’s trails were tough with some narrow bridges and punchy climbs.
Kris was able to drop Neil towards the end of the stage and put some more time into his collection of seconds.
Spencer went out on a 4th of July Hail Mary solo attack 5 km into the stage. This forced his followers into a gut wrenching pursuit. Spencer finished 3rd putting 4 min into the competition for the podium.
Cory ran a solid stage cruising across the line in 7th.
No surprise Wendy Simms was able to stifle all those that challenged her for the top spot.
Squamish, here we come!
