Although this is no Red Bull Rampage footage – it is a video about shredding bikes. Specifically, a video about ladies shredding bikes together and learning from each other about how to shred bikes even harder… plus much more. The focus of the Bellingham Women’s Mountain Bike Clinic is to create a more self-sufficient female mountain biker. Angi Weston, Lindsey Voreis, and Lisa Mason were the pro coaches on hand to teach the technical mountain biking skills and provide loads of inspiration, Becca Margulies was there to teach the participants about trail-side emergency bicycle maintenance, while Whatcom Mountain Bike Coalition (WMBC) president and vice president Barbara Karabin and Val Thompson were on hand to teach trail maintenance and skills to bring to your next local volunteer build day.
With the organization led by Kirsten Jensen, the tireless work of our coaches and volunteers plus the generous support from Kona Bicycles and many other sponsors – you can see that this event was a huge success. If you, or a lady you love, is interested in attending next year’s clinic – keep an eye out for details on Konaworld.com and mark your calendars for June 11th 2016!
And who knows… Maybe one of these days the Red Bull Rampage will feature some fearless, sport-progressing, female competitors… then again, women are much smarter than men, so maybe not.
