Yesterday, after 4 days of grueling trails from all kinds of terrain from the high Andean moonscape, to the rolling foothills in the Chilean wine country and in the humid pacific coastal range, Florencia Espiñeira (CHI) / Team Oxford took home the win in the womens category of the 2015 andes pacific enduro in front of Rachael Walker (GBR) and Sarah Rawley (USA). In the mens category the win was for Nico Lau (GER) in front of Fabien Barel (FRA) and Chris Johnston (CAN).
Florencia hails from Santiago, is 22 years old and formerly national junior XC champion, turned enduro racer last year and rides a Kona Process 134SE with Suntour suspension.
In the words of Dave Trumpore/Pinkbike.com
“Florencia Espineira was a dominant forced in the women’s race, winning every stage and beating many of the men on her way to the top step of the podium.”
