Grassroots Team MBW-KONA Ireland – Race Report

Irish Grassroots team MBW-KONA Racing were once again in action this Sunday 23rd March. Our southern crew battled the final round of the Irish Biking Blitz series in Ballyhoura, Co Limerick. The trails there have just been upgraded for the up-coming European Marathon Champs so it was new trails to try out, thankfully this did not put our riders off their games, Leah won super-pro ladies on her KONA HONZO which also gave her the over-all title.

Alex was 3rd today on his KONA PROCESS 134DL which too gave him the over-all title.

Jonathan finished 6th while missing a Cleat and had a super battle with Biking.ie rider Gav Carroll who finished 5th just ahead of him.

Further north in Clairnbridge, Co Galway Neil, Joseph, Liz and Garry raced Rd 4 of the Connacht League. Garry Finished 1st in Experts onboard his KONA WO and it transpires that this is the first

ever victory in an Irish XC race for a FATBIKE.

Liz won senior women beating her title rival who had the better of her last time out, Joseph also won his race setting up a great final race in two weeks, finally Neil finished 2nd in Elites which also cements his 2nd in the overall.

Round 3 of the Munster xc league, the final round of the Connacht xc league and round 1 of the Munster Enduro League are next up for our team, hopefully the good results keep pouring in.
Huge thanks to the teams sponsors, MBW BIKE SHOP, KONA BIKES, GrRANA ENERGY EUROPE, without all your help none of this would be possible.
