Nagata Junya earning his Elite Men National Championship title.

We just received news from our Japanese distributor that at the recent National DH Championships at the Panorama Ski Resort in the Nagano Prefecture Fujimi, Kona riders took not one, but TWO of the national titles up for grabs.

Track conditions were less than ideal. The rain stopped for the finals, turning this mud into sticky clay.

In the Elite Men Nagata Junya took the win and triumphed over not only his competitors but some seriously appalling conditions. Heavy rain had drenched the track and turned it into wet sticky clay for the finals. He wasn’t the only Kona rider on the podium though, teammate and fellow Supeme Operator rider Idekawa Naoki rounded out the podium, and took the third spot.

0718-5

After struggling in practice Junior rider Izumino RyuMasashi qualified in 5th and then stepped up to the plate in his finals run, convincingly winning the junior category.

Not a bad day at all for the AKI Kona Team, taking home three National Championship medals and two National titles!
