MBW Grassroots team report 1# (Ireland)

The first real test of the season, Biking.ie’s National Seies, the Gravity Enduro round 1 in Carrick Mountain, Co. Wicklow sold out with 350 competitors. The racing conditions were tough as there was a large amount of rain over night but all that cleared up by the time we hit the first stage. MBW Kona riders included Joseph Clancy on his Kitsune, Michelle Muldoon on her Process, Neil Martin on his Satori and Liz Hastings on her Cadabra. All riders did well throughout the day, only struggling in the muddy lower sections of stage 5 except from Neil who sailed through on the flat 29 inch rear wheel of the Satori, amazing result and finish from him after picking up a puncture half way down the stage! The day finished with one very happy fourteen year old, finishing 9th in his category (14-18) after his first Gravity Enduro, a first place for Michelle, second for Liz from the biggest ever field of ladies, and one very worn out tyre for Neil! Well done all, and bring on the next round in Ballyhoura, Co. Limerick!
