This last weekend at Ski Bowl in Mt Hood, Oregon was the third stop for the Northwest Cup. The Santiam Bicycle DH Team came out Friday evening for a weekend of camping and downhill racing. Conditions were great with sunshine and blue skies all weekend the race track at Ski Bowl proof once again to one of the hardest tracks in the Northwest with very dry and loose dirt and a combination of high speed and really technical rock gardens.
Raul Atencio, manager of the Satiam Tigard location, managed to place 3rd in the Cat2 30-39 category even with a little off track bush waking. The best result of the weekend came at the hands of Carlisle Daniels, who managed to get 1st place in the Cat1 Expert 30-39, this was just his 3rd race in the expert category. Our Pro Rider Spencer Burback, was able to get 15th place out of 39 of the best riders on the West Coast. Thanks again to Kona Bicycles for helping us with this sweet Carbon Operator we’ll be coming out to Ski Bowl again in a couple of weeks for the NW Cup #4 and hope to do even better!
