(Vancouver) The Prohab Helmet Society is a Vancouver non-profit organization dedicated to making bike helmets accessible for everyone. To fundraise for their 2011 year, Prohab has released their second annual calendar of 24 of Vancouver’s beautiful biking ladies. The $18 calendars now for sale on Prohab’s website, and in various shops across Vancouver and Victoria, just in time for the holiday gift giving season.

The calendar features 12 women on the cover in black and white, and twelve full color photos. This year’s calendar was put together from a collaboration of 5 photographers, 9 artists, and 24 models. Prohab provides affordable helmets to the Greater Vancouver area in British Columbia. Helmets are completely “pay what you can”, and Prohab accepts absolutely any donation. Each helmet comes with a reflective Prohab sticker on the back, and another one supplied in the box. “Usually people are really floored that this [Prohab’s helmet program] even exists,” says Co-Director Renée Le Page, “… they get excited about helmets. It feels really good.”

Since October 2010, Prohab has lovingly put 160 helmets on heads around Vancouver. Shop online for your calendar here.
