After 5 days of amazing single track racing, Team Kona is feeling pretty solid. Barry Wicks took victory on Stages 1,2 and 4 in route to earning the yellow leaders jersey, with team mate Cory Wallace winning day 3 to keep the top step of the podium a Kona affair. Wendy Simms is on a tear, winning every stage thus far and decimating her rivals, averaging about 30 minutes a day faster than her closest competitor. The crew pulled into Squamish, BC this afternoon, after a hard fought battle on stage 5 on the Sunshine Coats that saw Wicks lose a small amount of time, fighting through adversity to stay with in 5 seconds of the yellow jersey. Tomorrow is the queen stage, with 63 km of the finest single track Squamish has to offer on tap, so look for Wicks and Wallace to get back to their winning ways, and Simms to continue her domination as they attack the trails with style.
