“We travel not to escape life, but for life not to escape us.”

There are so many cheesy but also entirely true quotes floating around right now about travel, adventure, and escape. We can blame social media, but really, do we need to blame anyone? We now lead these insanely busy lives where there is almost always something happening that stands in the way of truly taking a real escape. Just getting out the door is half the battle. There’s even a quote for that. “He who is outside his door has the hardest part of his journey behind him.” So, these quotes and aspirational images that flood our feeds, we shouldn’t let them get us down. You don’t need a camera, a yellow jacket, and a character hat to hit the road. But what you do need is an adventure-worthy bike. And we can help.

The insanely versatile 2019 Kona Sutra is on sale now in both the USA KonaRideOnline.com and Canadian KonaRideOnline.com stores 15% off. That’s $1275 in the USA and $1615 in Canada. Six days after graduating high school in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan last year, at just 17, B’yauling Toni hopped on his stock Kona Sutra and started pedaling. Loaded up with a little food, a sleeping bag and a bivy he began one massive and awe-inspiring journey. His goal was to cycle 30,000km around the world. His planned route would take him traveling, unsupported and solo, in relatively the same direction, passing through a set of antipodal points on the earth, for B’yauling that was Madrid, Spain, and Wellington, New Zealand. If it all goes to plan he will break the world record for the youngest person to circumnavigate the globe by bicycle. You can check out the full story here.

Kona Ambassador Ryan Lindsey Bartz is one one epic global cycle tour and after leaving New Zealand she put together this whimsical little poetic video about her travels and what it takes to truly find yourself when traveling by bike.
