The Salty Dog six-hour marathon in Salmon Arm, BC has been a Western Canadian Classic for 20 years now, Cory Wallace rolled up to the start line over the weekend and smashed out the win.

“It’s always a great reunion connecting again with racers and friends from across BC and Alberta and the trails are great.

The course was in all-time conditions on Saturday before a rainy Sunday race day turned it into a messy sludgefest by the end. Most years, I think eleven laps of the 10 km course is doable but yesterday I had to settle with 10, snagging the crown for another year with my buddy and training partner Brendan Taylor having a solid ride to claim the Silver.

It was a special weekend having my Dad along for the race and having an event of this size again helped to put the isolation of this past pandemic behind us.

Big shout out to Dan Capek and Kona Canada for the bottle slinging and support over the weekend and Tom Peasy and his team for pulling off another great event in some not so ideal conditions this year”
