“How can I describe becoming the New Zealand distributor for Kona?
we feel like we’ve won the lottery.” – Sam Fletcher, Evo Cycles
We are thrilled to announce that a new chapter in Kona’s distribution has just begun in New Zealand as Evo Cycles have taken on distribution for the pacific island nation. Founded in the central North Island in 2007, Evo Cycles has grown immensely over the past 13 years and now has 18 specialist bike retail showrooms nationwide.
“After visiting a number of their New Zealand stores and meeting the Evo team we were convinced that Evo Cycles, with its incredibly strong customer service, passionate forward-thinking staff and vast retail network was the brand to carry us forward. We’re excited for Evo Cycles to play a key role in the future growth and expansion of the Kona brand in the New Zealand market” noted Dan Gerhard, Kona Bicycles
“Onboarding Kona has been the most exciting opportunity for Evo. We are pumped to work with a brand that fits so fluidly into our range and we believe Kona’s message to make the world a better place through getting more people on bikes will resonate with our Kiwi customers. Our entire retail crew and support centre is excited to move into a full Kona range offering from 2021.” – Chief Jimdog, Evo Cycles
You have to add that meeting the Evo team and visiting their shops convinced us that EVO was the brand to carry us forward. They work hard and play hard. You can drop the co founder from my tag.
“We, the mad dogs at EVO, are so stoked to be partnering with Kona, the only brand that is aligned with our general approach to life and just happens to make the most riotous bikes which are prime for the New Zealand rider. We’re launching with a near-complete offering of 2020 bikes and have begun our ordering for the 2021 range. We thank the good people at Kona for believing in us and giving us the opportunity to make you, the Kona riders, stoked on this partnership. Catch you on the trail.” – Roger Campbell, Evo Cycles
At Kona, we’re all about the freedom and empowerment of the bicycle. We have been since 1988. We still have the same founding owners. We’re still populated by a staff of keen, active, impassioned cyclists. We’re not big, nor are we that small. Just a dedicated group of cyclists making bicycles for people who love bikes – no matter if that love is new or long established. Partnering with Evo Cycles will allow us to spread our passion for making the best bikes in the world to even more riders.
Current season bikes are available now online and in showrooms. Be sure to follow Evo Cycles on their social media channels. You’ll find their Blog here, Instagram here, and their Facebook is right here.
