A few weekends back saw the gathering of the (mostly) New England mountain bike tribe at the beautiful Kingdom Trails for 2015’s version of the annual NEMBAfest extravaganza. Close to 2000 participants made their way to northern Vermont for some of the best riding in the east.
K.T. (kingdomtrails.org) and NEMBA (nemba.org) team up to put on one heck of a great three day family friendly party (weather this year made it more of a two day event) based around riding bikes and having fun.
Kona’s Dale Plant teamed up with our awesome dealer, Bicycle Express (owned by the amazing Pro XC racer Noah Tautfest), and their world famous race team out of nearby-ish Northfield, VT. They were busy setting up and sending out hundreds of riders on 25 different sick Kona demo bikes.Kona also donated a (award winning no less) Process 134 for the huge raffle that a couple from the Boston area won. An intense Rock Paper Scissors battle determined whether the new bike was going to be delivered in his size or hers.
Our hard work and passion for bikes did not go unnoticed as we were (unofficially but not unexpectedly) voted the best demo crew at the event. We asked and the NEMBAfest crew said paying off the judges by donating a brand new Process 134 had nothing to do with winning this prestigious award.
This event keeps getting a little bigger and a lot better every year so we plan to keep coming back and you should too!
Mark it on your calendar as it’s already locked and loaded for the same time and place next summer and that is June 17-19 2016
We at Kona hope to see you in Vermont’s Kingdom Trails next year!
