When Vitalmtb.com user CoreGrind’s Process X CR DL popped up as a Bike of Day last week we had to do a double-take. At first glance, the bike looked relatively stock, but close inspection revealed some pretty glaringly obvious upgrades as well as some fairly subtle ones. Whatever the case this “Process X MX” is one badass build and I think it might be the first mullet Process X Dream Build we have featured, yup that’s a 27.5 wheel out the back. Mr GoreGrind has set the bike up on a matching Bontrager OCLV Line Pro 30 wheelset. The wheels are shod in possibly the most popular tire combo in existence, a 2.5 Maxxis Assegai out front and 2.4 Minion DHR out the back.

The drivetrain is an e*thirteen affair with LG1 Race Carbon cranks spinning on a match e*thirteen BB and sporting a 32t SL Guidering. A Blackspire Crusher chain guide keeps the drive train protected.

Out the back, a SRAM XO1 Eagle chain connects the front end up with more e*thirteen goodness in the way of their 9-50t Helix R 12-speed cassette. Shifting is taken care off with a GX AXS rear mech.

Suspension wise the bike has been left untouched with the stock 170mm Lyrik Ultimate and Super Deluxe Ultimate keeping the bike planted.

Up in the cockpit though, there are a bunch of custom changes. The stock Kona stem remains but it’s now clamping a OneUp Components 35mm handlebar in place that’s been trimmed to 760mm. Ergon slim GE1 Evo grips make certain that the contact points are comfortable and rock-solid while a set of powerful Magura MT7 Pro brakes mated to Storm HC rotors ensure the bike can stop on a dime. The saddle and seat post have also been swapped out, the stock options have been replaced with a Reverb AXS and Ergon SME3 Comp. A set of XTR pedals and a Wolftooth/King bottle cage round out this stunning build.
