Well here is number two of this week’s super cool red and green themed Honzo ST builds. Enjoy.  Craig wanted to get in shape for dirt bike racing, that’s what motivated him to decide to get this Honzo, his first-ever custom mountain bike.  “The reason why I went with the custom option is  I wanted to build the bike to suit me and my style.  I’m new to the MTB world but after the help of my friend who is an avid MTB rider and doing a bunch of research on the web, this is what I came up with for my forever bike. Special thanks to my friend Craig Santos. This bike rips at my favorite place to ride, Demo Forest in Santa Cruz.”

Like Joshua’s build from yesterday, Craig has kicked this impressive build off with a set of red anodized Race Face cranks with a matching 32t Race Face oval chainring. Things then take a radical turn as you see what Craig and his buddy have spec’d out back. Yup that is a SRAM XX1 AXS rear derailleur and matching XX1 11-50t cassette and chain.

Suspension wise the bike is sporting a 140mm RockShox Pike. The bike rolls on a

29″ Halo Vortex Wheelset that’s wrapped in WTB’s Tough Casing Vigilante tires, a 2.6 up front and a 2.4 out the back.
Braking is a full-blown Hope affair with Tech 3 E4 Brakes pulling on matching red anodized floating Hope rotors (203 front/180 rear).
How rad do those red Hope levers look? There are more red accents in the cockpit with a beautifully CnC’d Hope stem holding a 35mm Renthal Fatbar in place, a set of Red Odi SDG lock-on grips almost completes the front end.
And just like Joshua’s Honzo ST from yesterday, Craig has also fitted a Works Components -2º angle set headset to slacken the bike and keep the BBlow after overforking the bike with the 140mm of travel. There’s another splash of red in the form of a Race Face Turbine R Dropper Lever that connects to a 180mm One Up V2 Dropper post. The build is rounded out with a set of composite Race Face Chester pedals and a WTB Rocket saddle.
