Looking at George Young’s Instagram feed clearly shows that he suffers from an addiction to building dream bikes. His feed is choc-full of them, the most recent one, is this stealthy black Kona Unit. Georges unit is a real mix of old and new, the Reynolds 520 frame is sporting a carbon ENVE Mountain fork and a set of NOBL TR38 wheels, there’s an assortment of anodized purple parts from Hope (the hubs), Nukeproof (stem) and ODI.

The drivetrain is sporting even more carbon, in the way of a set of Race Face Next SL cranks. A 32t oval Absolut Black chainring drives the power to the rear 16t single speed sprocket.
Braking is courtesy of a set of Shimano XT calipers and levers with a 203mm rotor up front and a 180mm out the back.
The NOBL TR38’s are shod with WTB Ranger TCS 29×2.6 front and rear. The dropper post is a the only real outlier here, its an Alibaba special DNM post, but by all accounts, they seem to work… Maybe George blew the budget on all the carbon bits and pieces?
Here’s some more carbon, attached to that svelte looking Nukeproof stem is one cool Nukeproof Horizon handlebar.
