We’ve featured Jason and his shop Chainline Bikes more than anyone else here on our Kona Dream Builds pages. The California shop churns out amazing custom builds for its customers. Today, though, we have a special treat in the form of Jason’s own Libre. As with all the builds that Chainline works on it seems that no expense has been spared. From the modified Force 1 group-set to the Hope calipers and the Spinergy hoops, this Libre will be embarking on hundreds of green miles.

The drivetrain comprises of a Force 1 crankset with a Wolftooth direct mount 36t ring.

A gold XX1 chain connects up with an 11 speed Force 1 rear mech.

Up on the bars the bike features both front and rear shifting Force 1 levers, the front one has been modified to activate a KS dropper post.

A Deity Speedtrap saddle sits atop the KS Lev CI 150mm dropper.

The Kona road bars have remained while the stem has been upgraded to a 75mm ENVE and the headset is a FSA No.42 carbon ACB.

The bike rolls on WTB Riddler TCS 700x45c tires mounted to alloy 24h Spinergy 6B GX disc wheels and hubs.

The SRAM Force 1 Brake levers are connected to 2-piece Hope calipers with 160mm rotors.

If you remember the FEZ, you’ll remember that Jason likes a bit of gold leaf.

Wow

The Libre is just as much at home loaded up with bags as it is hitting the local tarmac. Jason got creative with protective tape to give the bike a full layer of protection for bag and strap wear.

Topeaks Ninja cage stores a bottle and a tools.

Deity’s blade runner pedals round out the dialled build.
