After getting my hands on the Rove Ltd complete bike in March, I already had some plans for smaller changes I wanted to make. What I have never mentioned on the Kona Cog is that I have a pretty strong background in road bike riding, and racing during my early youth (I still ride road bikes for fun as training for mountain biking and balance it).

In the first weeks, I found so many new ways and paths in my region, checked out so many new cool spots, and had the most fun ever even when I ended up on dead-end roads or impassable sections (which are very rare with this bike). The bike is super fast and likes to go forward. Trophies and crowns popped up on my Strava and motivated me to go harder, faster, and further on every ride.

When the bike first showed up I swapped out the seat, seat post, and also the wheelset to match my road bike positions that I am used to.
I rode the Rove for two months on early morning commuting rides and on some fun gravel adventures and during that time tested a few different tire options and positions. After all that fun and good experiences, I have decided to go all-in again and make a full custom build exactly how I wanted. Thanks to the help of some supporters and sponsors mentioned below I can now present my full custom dream build Rove ltd with some cool little DIY details.

The drivetrain is a mix of Sram Force/ Rival Components with Garbaruk CNC milled chainring and pulley wheels.

42T in the front 10-44T in the back, shifted smoothly by a Sram Rival AXS derailleur.

Braking is taken care of with Sram Force hydraulic brakes and 160mm rotors.

Sram Force AXS levers on a Zipp service course Cockpit. 400mm wide Bars, 90mm stem.

King Cage bottle cages with Betterbolt Ti Screws

The hoops are 700 x 40c tan wall Maxxis Receptors, set up tubeless on a Newmen SL R38 Carbon wheelset I am reusing from an older road bike.

I paired the Sram AXS levers with some self-made/self soldered push buttons to have more shifting positions on my cockpit.

Some customization to Lezyne’s handlebar insert tool allows me to utalize it in my bottom bracket.
