It’s no secret to those who regularly follow our Dream Build posts that steel Honzo’s are by far and away the most common Kona to see a custom build. The affordable price of the frame and its all round trail destroying nature makes for a great starting point, Marshall’s example marks the first 2020 one that we have featured. You can definitley expect more!

The cool think about Honzo ST builds is the fact that most people are trying to put together a bike, that while it doesn’t break the bank, can get rowdy and go the distance. Marshall’s mix of SLX cranks and an XT rear derailleur (with a 10-51t SLX cassette) set the tone right off the bat. OneUp’s alloy platform pedals round out the drive train.

The wheels are WTB KOM rims laced to Shimano XT hubs with Phil Wood spokes, and they a shod with WTB Trail Boss TCS Light tires.

The cockpit is a very modern affair, OneUp Components new compliant carbon bar anchors Shimano SLX brakes (connected to 4 pot SLX calipers) and an XT shifter. Marshall has chosen a 140mm Pike Select for suspension duties.

Deity’s Copperhear 35mm stem looks rad as hell in polished silver

But where’s the dropper?
