We’ve been sitting on Brian’s bike Goldie for quite a while, in fact, we first spotted it on Instagram over a year ago. Well, we figured it was high time we shared it with you, allow us to introduce  Brian’s 2017 Explosif forever bike Goldie. He tells us he plans to ride it for the next 20 years at least, and you’d best believe him, he’d been riding a 1994 Kilauea since, well since 1994!

Brian has kept the drive train mostly stock, except for the addition of a Ti chain and a Sunrace wide range 11-46 rear cassette.

The reliable Shimano XT rear derailleur keeps shifting smooth.  Crank Brothers Stamp 1 pedals kick off the blue accent theme.

A big selling point for the bike was the Fox 34 fork, although once Brian started with the blue accents he knew he’d have to get some custom blue and gold graphics for them to really match. Tires are both from Maxxis, with a 2.3″ Agressor out the back and a Minion DHF 3C Maxx Terra EXO 2.6 up front. A WTB Rocket Race saddle sits atop a Trans X dropper post.

There’s more blue in the cockpit courtesy off the Vans Waffle ODI grips and Kona Brewing stem top cap. The bar and stem are both from Race Face, the stem being a Aeffect R and the handlebars are Atlas. The PRO Koryak I-spec integrated dropper lever operates a Trans X dropper post.
