Mark at Back Alley Bikes in North Carolina just keeps building damn rad Konas. Luckily for you, and thanks to the amazing photography of Jared Harber, we get to keep sharing them! His latest dreamy is this long 2022 Kona Shonky.

The drivetrain is a Shimano affair, with some Saint cranks and a Saint 36t chainring providing the power.

Out back you’ll find an 18t Endless Biking Kick Ass Cog… Mounted to a Hop Pro 4 rear hub slammed forward in the bike’s sliding horizontal dropouts.

Up front you’ll find a fresh RockShox Pike DJ.

The wheels are handbuilt by Back Alley Bike, and are DT Swiss FR570’s laced to Hope Pro 4 hubs, wire bead Maxxis DTH tires round out the wheel package.

All the m’s

Shimano’s Saint groupset pops up again in the brake department.

The handlebars are Chromag FU40’s.

The bar is held in place by a ranger stem and marks hands are in turn held in place by a well-loved set of Sensus Disisdaboss grips. It all spins on a Cane Creek 110 headset.

A set of used and abused Forte Convert Mag SL pedals keep Mark’s feet in place.

And the build is rounded out with a Brandon Semenuk pro model Overture saddle from Chromag.
