The team headed down to round 5 of the PRO XCT/US-CUP Triple Crown at Oak Mountain State Park in Birmingham, Alabama. The weekend started off with a short track that had lots of loose gravel turns and steep hills. After 20 mins of hammering Tristan finished 7th and Alex rolled in 13th.

Next up Saturday afternoon was Super-D, which ran the riders down a section of the cross-country course referred to as “blood-rock”. This section had a tons of large rocks waiting to take out riders. Riders rolled out of the start gate in 1 minute intervals. Alex rolled in 2nd. The King Kahuna descend like a champ through the rock gardens & railed the berms like a dirt jumper bike. The King Kahuna is truly a versatile bike.

Sunday was the main event, Bump ‘N Grind cross-country. The race included 28 miles of twisty single-track & a long gravel road climb ending with a rad descent down “blood-rock”. The start was epically fast with Trebon stringing out the field. The race separated into several groups and the MOB team was able to stay in contention with the main group for most of the race. Tristan & Alex rolled through the start/finish area together for the final lap that climbed back up Oak Mountain to the “blood-rock” descent. After the final desent Tristan unfortunately flatted but was able to fix it & keep rolling. At the end of the day Alex finished 13th & Tristan finished 19th.

The Bump ‘N Grind was also apart of the US-CUP Triple Crown Series. This was an omnium of short track, Super-D and cross-country. The team finished up well with Alex placing 2nd in the omnium.
