This past weekend was round 5 of the Southern Classic Mountain Bike Series in Columbia, SC. The day started with a hot start up a long gravel road climb that sent racers into tight slick single-track. The 12.5 mile loop made for long lap times with much of the course covering pine needle covered single-track. At the end of lap 2, myself and another rider remained. On the last climb, I was able to get away from 2nd place and open a gap to the finish. After 2 laps, I was able to grab the win aboard the King Kahuna! As always the King Kahuna rocked the flowing single-track with ease.
