It’s been a while since we brought you a Kona Unpacked bike feature, in fact, we’ve only really brought you one and that was Colt Fetters epic Hei Hei CR DL. Well, we are bringing them back and we are kicking things off with Elliot’s Rove DL. Elliot has had a variety of bag setups on his Rove, from Blackburn Outpost bags to Kiwi brand Aeroe, but its latest incarnation is this dialed Apidura kit.
Elliot’s Rove is running an Apidura Expedition full-frame pack in the main triangle, it gets loaded up with water, food, spares and his MSR cooker.
Out back Elliot stores his Thermarest and sleeping bag in Apidura’s Expedition saddle bag. The bungy cords are utilized for wet weather gear in winter.
The Expedition handlebar bag fits between the stock Rove bars with a couple of extra rolls for clearance from the shifters. The bag stores clothes and Elliots tent fly.
Elliot really only uses this Rove for long weekend trips and finds that his phone charger and a couple of snacks fit in the Apidura Tube bag and full size Nalgene bottle fits snuggly in the Food Pouch.
