We’re guessing you’ve heard of a brevet, right? No? Well a Brevet is basically a randonneuring event, one where there is a winner. A race is called a randonnée or a brevet, and a rider who has completed a 200 km event is called a randonneur. A group of Christchurch, New Zealand-based riders, including photographer Odin Woods are about to set out on their own randonneuring event, but with a little twist. Theirs is a Beervet and the 500km route has been planned to take in all of the Nelson and Marlborough regions’ rural pubs. Odin says “it should be more fun than punishment.”

You can follow Odin and his fellow Beerveters on his instagram here and can follow the ringleader Tony Hutchison here.
