The first two cross races were this past weekend and more podiums for Kona.

It was also Helens first two races on the Kona Major Jake taking first at FSA Star Crossed and fourth at Rad Racings GP of Cyclocross.

Helen Wyman, Konas latest addition to the cross team, blew her field apart from right out of the gate right until the finish with a 30 second lead on the rest of the field despite the wet and rainy conditions at this years FSA StarCrossed. Ryan Trebon suffered some bad luck with a crash that only allowed him to finish in fourth place behind the winner, Christian Heule from Switzerland, who flew over the pond to pick up some early season UCI points.

Helen came out of the gate the following day at the Rad Racing Gp of Cyclocross with the same desire to win. Unfortunately, Helen flatted out and went from first position to almost last place. Not enough race for her to get back into first but she managed to finish in fourth place.

The men did not fair any better on day two with Ryan pulling out with 4 laps to go due the sore back from the night before crashing at Starcrossed.

Konas team will be in full effect for this years most well attended event in North America, Cross Vegas, where Ryan will be defending is title and Helen will be representing for the women. If you’re in the neighborhood, come on out and cheer on the Kona CycloCross team.
