On Memorial Weekend we ventured east to Spokane for the “24 Hours Round the Clock” MTB race. RRNW fielded 2 junior team for the race, I distributed the riders evenly between the 2 teams instead of stacking one team. I like to do this to promote competition amongst our riders, kinda like an inter-squad scrimmage. Although we were not worried about the overall victory one of our teams came very close to beating the stacked Slalom Consulting Team. Additionally we fielded an adult staff team. This race is one of the best events of the year for the team and has become an annual highlight. 24 Hours Round the Clock, Spokane, Washington. Open Juniors 2. Rad Racing NW #2 3. Rad Racing NW #1 Our buddy Nate Mendel from the Foo Fighters once again flew up from LA to ride on the RRNW Staff Team, always nice to have the rock star in camp.

Rad Racing NW alumni Ian Crane riding for Hagens Berman won all 3 stages in the Pro 1/2 Category for the weekend to take the overall. Rad Racing Director of Performance Coaching David Fleischhauer took 2nd overall while riding in support of Crane. It’s amazing to see the guys continuing to progress in the sport.

Rad Racing NW MTB Star Rider Nolan Brady locked down the Varsity Title for the 2013 Evergreen Student League.

And maybe the coolest piece of news for the month 9 year old Annie Rosser competed in the Olympia Bicycle Commuter Contest with the support of her dad and team sponsor Dr. Andy Rosser. In the month of May Annie commuted on her Kona Jake The Snake 301.5 miles, yes you read that right, a 9 year old bike commuted 301.5 miles in 1 month, Holy Smokes!!! Congrats to Annie and to Dr. Rosser, you have a ripper on your hands there.

July looks to be a whirlwind for the team.
We will be fielding a large contingent for the annual Seattle to Portland ride.
Several riders heading to Cascade Classic.
MTB Nationals.
Track Nationals.
Nolan Brady and David O’Brien selected for National Cyclocross Camp with head US Coach Geoff Proctor. 5 riders off to the USA Cycling Regional Development Camp in Portland…..

And August will bring the 2nd annual Rapha NW Classic Junior Stage Race…..promoted by Rad Racing NW.

As always, thank you to all of our sponsors for the support, we couldn’t do it without you.

Warm Regards,
Jim Brown
