The Kona Bike Shop in Bellingham is our flagship store. Like every good bike shop, the KBS has its very own shop grom. We happen to think our shop grom is the best, though. He’s astutely aware of customer’s needs, has a killer knowledge of our entire lineup, and gives shop dog Rosie an unlimited amount of pets. After a long summer of slinging sales, Calvin (@Calvin_shreds) was able to build up his dream bike, a 2021 Process 153 27.5. Here’s a look at the goods!
Calvin is running a killer color-matched cockpit consisting of CRD Stooge 803 bars, a Deity Copperhead stem, ODI Ruffian Elite Flow grips, and Cane Creek 40 headset.
Rear suspension is a 2021 Fox X2 Factory 205×60.
Up front Calvin is running a Fox 38 Factory Grip 2 at 170mm for that mega plush feel. He’s gone for CRD Apex rims and Cush Core Pro tire inserts. Even the valve stems are fancy: Peaty’s Mk2.
Calvin is solidly in the Shimano camp with this one, and is sporting XT 4 piston brakes and XT Ice Tech rotors (203 front, 180mm rear). He’s also running Hope Pro 4 hubs to keep things rolling smoothly.
Nothing like a little custom artwork on your fender. Matching Wah Wah 2 Aluminum pedals keep the orange theme constant.
Wrapping up the build is a killer drivetrain: Shimano XT 12-speed running on an Absolute Black oval chainring (32t), and Shimano XT 175mm cranks.
