Drawing on our long-standing relationship with titanium, coupled with a distinct want by our designers to do road a little differently, we introduce the Esatto. Esatto, as in exactly, precisely, accurate as Italian road aficionados like to say. Featuring geometry tuned to Fondo, gravel grinder and endurance riding, it incorporates taller headtubes and shorter top tubes while delivering the trademark Kona Ride known for performance combined with perfectly balanced handling. The Esatto is made in 6 sizes (49, 52, 54, 56, 59, 61) to provide excellent fit while inspiring confidence and creating comfort along the Neverending Road.
Throughout the testing process, product manager Pat White knew he was onto something good: “The bike descends and corners impeccably. It’s an absolute joy on twisty, rough or even dirt roads. While our Zone and Zing road bikes deliver pure aggressive climbing and sprinting capabilities for the most efficient in power transfer, the Esatto is made for those long exploratory rides that you want to go on forever. This might be one of the best road bikes we’ve ever made.”
This being the first Ti road bike we’ve ever designed, how does the Esatto fit into Kona’s fast-growing fleet of road bikes? The main difference from our closest model when it comes to performance and fit—that being the Zone, which we categorize as Endurance Race—the Esatto falls under our new Endurance Comfort platform. Essentially, a unique road bike catering to the discerning road cyclist who primarily values body fit and comfort but still wants a machine that performs flawlessly.
