Outdoor enthusiasts! The Kona Bicycle Company is seeking a full-time employee to work in our USA marketing department based in Bellingham, WA. This is a great way to get your foot in the door. The right candidate will be willing to assist our marketing efforts as needed as well as focus heavily in specific areas of the department including merchandise vendor management and social media. We have a strong team, but we need someone on the ground willing to learn the ropes and help us get more of our projects across the finish line and out into the world for everyone to experience. Like most marketing jobs, this one is fluid, so the right candidate needs to be willing to learn on the fly and be cool with flexibility as tasks and roles evolve.

What’s entailed in this dream job? Well, for starters, we’ll need you to dive in on merchandising assistance, social media, and help with event coordination. You’ll receive extensive hands-on training, but to give you an idea of what will be on your plate, here are the details:  

With regards to merchandising, we’re looking for someone:  

  • To communicate with suppliers. You’ll be gathering quotes, creating PO’s, placing orders, following through, and making shipping arrangements.   
  • To receive merchandise, communicate invoices and arrivals, arrange international shipments.  
  • To help our team take kick-ass product shots.  
  • To create and distribute merch marketing materials: Create product pages, sizing charts, communicate timelines, and send all materials neatly to all our locations.   
  • Help develop our social media content for merchandise (TikTok, Kona Cog Blog, Instagram Stories).  
  • To communicate to the larger team and sales about promotions and inventory levels in a timely manner.  
  • To coordinate with our European marketing assistant to produce merchandise and POP domestically.  
We’re also looking for someone to help with social media. We need you to be confident in your ability to:  

  • Reply to customer messages and comments on social media while speaking in Kona’s voice.  
  • Post stories to Instagram that support our Kona Ride Online sales program.  
  • Post Instagram stories that highlight our merchandise.  
  • Interact with followers across our various social media accounts.  
  • Own our Kona Facebook page and help increase the audience and engagement.  
  • Create and maintain our wildly popular Kona Dream Build posts.  
Last, but certainly not least, we need help with events… and events are FUN! We need support:  

  • Arranging travel and accommodations for some events as requested.  
  • Pulling merch for event sales.  
  • Maintaining budget sheets.   
  • With general tasks at events: setting up and tearing down booths, merchandise sales, helping spread the Kona stoke.
