Rode the Kona 134 today, it rode brilliantly, impeccable manners and you would not believe it only has 140mm of travel – felt like a little downhill bike, now considering it’s the entry level bike it just shows you that it’s the frame (and fork) that matter as the Deore group set on the bike was more than up for the job – starting to wonder why I pay for XT and XTR? Is it just snobbery? Probably – either way the bike was brilliant out the box, right stem length, width of bars, complete with a dropper post. And lastly you can tell the difference between 26 and 27.5 and the plain fact is the bigger wheel is better.
