The event put on by MTBVT.com and Kingdom Trails has grown to be a huge success with over 400 participants this year.
The day started out at a very “refreshing” -18F (that’s about -28C if you reside north of the border), but warmed up nicely throughout the day. This event has a great vibe with a lot of smiling faces as group rides and demos kicked off at 9am. The network of trails at Kingdom might be (arguably) the best in the East for winter fatbiking. The snow was firm early and with the Kona Wo you could stand up and climb about anything. Later in the afternoon they had various activity’s in the field after the trails had seen a lot of miles logged. A 6x race was held up on the field, which Noah from BikeExpress Racing won (on his Wo) and later Phil Perish took 1st in the first ever Fat Bike Log Pull.
“The event was a huge success with the fleet of Kona demos out all day” said the race winning Noah (the man) Tautfest. What started out to be a cold morning ended up being another fantastic Winterbike at the trails known as KT. We will be back next year!
