Kona Super Grassroots rider Alexis Roukens is a full-time university student and part-time Enduro Racer. Sometimes those two worlds don’t exactly meet at the most convenient spot. With an Exam on Monday, Alexis chose to race just the first day’s stage of the two-day Ambleve Legend Enduro before boosting back home to study. It was a fantastic result on both accounts with a Stage 1 win and 5th on day one and a solid exam!

“The Ambleve Legend Enduro 2023, such a sick day on the bike enjoying some sneaky trails with the boys. The speed was definitely there, I managed to finish 5th overall (only 12 seconds from the top spot) on a tight 21min race for the first day. Unfortunately, I made the difficult decision to go back home and study for a big exam instead of racing on the second day! It was a good choice, I managed my exam really well and I had a blast at the race!

My Process X is riding better than ever, and my setup is on point! Now it’s time to focus on the upcoming races EDR races in Itlay and more university tests!” – Alexis RoukensÂ
