Leogang World CupIt's been a while and The Kona Gravity Team is stoked to be back.
TRACK WALKS AND RACE PREP ARE UNDERWAY
The Kona Gravity Team is on course! A lot goes into preparing for even this stage of the race. The team has been busy setting up and the excitement is at an all time high.
Registered on the start list is Kona Gravity Team Elite Connor Fearon, Kona Gravity Team Junior Noah Hoffman (who is racing with a broken finger! Gnarly!), Junior World Champion Lauryne Chappaz, and Kona Ambassador Simone Medici. Surrounded by support, you can expect to see Team mechanics Alex Pleasnt and Antman as well as Team manager Mathieu Dupelle.
The athlete experience
I can start off by saying that it’s been about 20 months since being at a World Cup Downhill race so I’m both nervous and excited for this weekend! I’ve been in Europe for the last week getting some seat time on the Operator and although we have already made some improvements to the bike set up my main goal was to get used to the speed and steepness of the tracks in Europe again. I’m feeling comfortable so looking forward to getting on track this week.
High speed, Steep terrain
Leogang is known for being quite the beast to tackle. Getting eyes on each feature and knowing exactly where to put your tires is crucial.
BACK ON THE BIG HORSE...
Without the ability to travel to any World Cup stops in 2020, Connor has been assigned the number 80 plate. This means he is not protected and must qualify to enter into the big show. By the grace of the UCI, he is able to participate in timed training.
...AND SPENDING TIME WITH THE MINI HORSE
This little weekend mascot has been keeping the Team entertained during their down time back at the house. Should we name it?
