2021 LES GETS FINALS
CONNOR FEARON PODIUMS AT THE 2021 UCI DH WORLD CUP ROUND #2CONNOR PUTS DOWN A SOLID RUN THAT HOLDS
The Les Gets track proved to be a burly one come race day. Everything that could possibly make this track difficult to conquer happened. The skies opened up and coated every root, every deep rut, and every technical jump.
It is a common saying that half of racing is skill, and half is just random luck. Where Connor Fearon struck unlucky the last race, the pendulum swung back and good luck came to accompany his skill this time. The clouds held during his race run giving him the chance to really put it down. A few runs later, and those heavy clouds couldn’t hold it in any longer. Rain poured in buckets on the already gnarly track. The last racers to drop couldn’t hang on to the previously set pace. Connor held his 4th place spot and solidified the podium placement. With 22 months between now and his last World Cup finals, the come back was one for the books.
For the rest of the Kona Gravity Team, we are pleased that everyone survived and reported back with respectable times. Noah Hoffman placed 16th in Jr. Men’s, while Coen Skrypnek was 23rd. Lauryne Chappaz came in at 14th place in Women’s Elite.
We can’t wait to see where this momentum takes the Kona Gravity Team this season!
