” On Saturday, April 8th I participated in the Filthy 50 Gravel race which is part of the Michigan Gravel Race Series. In a field of 150 racers, I started out strong and was sitting in a good pack taking turns drafting and pulling. The course was a minefield in many places, riddled with holes and deep divots, and in other places, it was smooth, steady sailing. Unfortunately at about mile 15 my tailbone shifted out of alignment and I had to slow it down and be careful about the amount of torque I was putting down, but I still managed to keep it steady most of the way through! In the end, I finished as the 7th overall female and was pulled out of my age group to be placed on the overall podium, so in the end, everything still worked out well!” – Emma Kasza-James
