Kona Endurance Team Rider Kerry Werner completed day two of the Pisgah Stage Race yesterday in second place yesterday. High-speed racing combined with some incredible sportsman-like conduct from his competitors secured Kerry the leader’s jersey going in to day three. There are still three days to go, with rain and some seriously hot competition, so the race is still wide open.

“Stage 2 has my favorite trail in the forest and my least favorite trail in the forest. Plus some surprise trail, because I didn’t do the research. However, it was a good surprise. Sure the hike a bike sucked but getting to see the new Black Mtn Trail rework top to bottom at race pace? I won’t forget that for a while. Plus, I snagged the leader’s jersey! Three more days to go!”
