Aaron decided to build up a beast of a single speed using his Honzo ST frameset. With a BMX background, the simplicity of a single speed felt like home for him. Let’s dive into the specs…

The heart of the drivetrain is a set of 170mm Cane Creek eeWings cranks with a 32t Endless Bikes direct mount chainring and 18t single speed cog.  Pedals are Nukeproof Sam Hill Enduro Race in oil slick.

It’s rolling on DT Swiss EX511s laced to lime green I9 Hydra hubs. For tires, 2.6″ Maxxis Rekons perform double duty in both the front and rear as they are appropriate for the type of terrain Aaron encounters in the midwest. Braking is handled by Shimano Saints.

Out front is a 160mm RS Lyrik that has been reduced to 140mm, a Works Components 1.5 degree angle headset slackens it a little bit.  An I9 A318 stem in the same lime green as the hubs keeps it all connected.  Aaron is experimenting with the Surly Sunrise riser bar to see what he thinks. Finishing touches up front you’ll find RevGrips suspension grips and a KustomCaps voodoo doll headset cap.

The seatpost is a 150mm PNW Components Loam dropper post connected to a Loam lever.  Crowning the dropper is a Chromag Trailmaster LTD in pine.
