The people’s champ, Caleb Holonko hailing from The Shore of Vancouver, created an ebike dripping with style & steeze. For the diehard Kona readers, Caleb needs little introduction having ridden as one our Factory Riders since 2016.

Holonko, a passionate trail builder and fantastic mountain biker, uses his E-MTB to push the limits of the sport.

E-Biking… you used to hate ’em, now you love ’em. The Remote 160 propels Caleb up the mountain with a Shimano E7000 drive unit.

The pedaling power is channeled through a complete SRAM X01 AXS drivetrain…

…and for the squishy bits, Caleb rocks the RockShox Zeb Ultimate 170mm Zeb in the front, paired with a Super Deluxe Ultimate Coil in the rear.

What goes up must come down, that Chromag Mood DT saddle perched atop a 175mm AXS Reverb from RockShox follows the same gravitational principles. Yet, this seat post is actuated without a traditional cable…

…and that leaves only two hydraulic brake lines on Caleb’s rig. Those carbon ENVE M7 bars compliment the style Caleb is looking for.

SRAM’s new addition to their brake line features a mineral brake option, the DB8 which suits this E-MTB bike very well.

Wheels can take a beating, especially when you’re pioneering mountain bike trails on the North Shore. Both Chris King (hub), and ENVE (rim) manufacture their bike-bits in North America, right down the road from Caleb in Portland, and Ogden respectively. Laced up and rolling on this Remote 160 are the ENVE M9 hoops, with a Chris King ISO 6-bolt at its core.

Rounding out the touch points, will be the Kona Wah Wah II pedals, and the Maxxis rubber around those beautiful wheels. In the front; an Assegai 29 x 2.5WT/3C Maxx Grip, and in the back a DHR II 29 x 2.4WT/3C Maxx Grip.
