Would you look at that – an elusive Hei Hei spotted in the wild! This wild animal (the Hei Hei CR DL – Kona) is one of the fastest cats in the world and sits atop the food chain. Light and agile, yet strong and powerful.

Alright we’re done with the wildlife analogy; the Kona Hei Hei is a mountain bike made for riding mountain bike trails. The Hei Hei is a veteran in the Kona lineup and Nate put together a beautiful build for us to nerd out on.

Starting up front, Nate equipped a RockShox Pike Ultimate with a Roval Control Carbon wheel underneath that 120mm of fork travel. The Roval wheelset is wrapped with pair of matching tan- wall, Specialized Ground Control tires (29×2.35).

In the rear we’ve got a RockShox Sid Luxe Ultimate with 120mm as well. But, before we go through the rest of the build, let’s tell you how much this bike weighs. Nate’s Hei Hei came in at 27.3lbs…

… and all that weight savings comes from the compilation of individual components. Like those Whiskey No. 9 carbon bars, and the AXS Reverb 150mm dropper post.

Nate is also sporting some fresh Deity components, with a Deity Cavity 40mm stem, Deity Knuckleduster grips…

…and this Deity seat clamp.

More bike bling – the 5dev 170mm crankset and a matching 5dev 32t oval chainring (6%). The oil slick/rainbow chain is, of course, a SRAM XX1…

…spinning that XX1 10-50t cassette and completing the drivetrain we’ve got a GX AXS derailleur.

Last, but certainly not the least are the SRAM Guide RSC brakes *also chrome*, paired up with a 180mm centerline rotor up front, and a 160mm in the rear.

Looking good Nate! And, thanks for reading everyone.
