This beautifully dialed 2019 Sutra popped up in our #KonaDreamBuilds feed the other day and we thought it would be rude not to share it with you. Watanabe has clearly spent time getting this bike set up “just right” and to be ill be dammed if that sticker and flair placement isn’t just perfect. Well let’s take a closer look.
What better place to start than with the drivetrain. A SRAM XO crankset spins on a Hope BB and is mated to an APEX1 cassette and shifter.
The Apex1 rear mech mates perfectly with the single ring XO crankset. While we are here, yes that is a pair of stainless King cages.
The WTB KOM wheels are shod with Simworks Super Yummy 27.5×2.22 tires, matching Simworks Flat 65 fenders offer rain protection for the rider.
Up in the cockpit, you’ll find Thomson stem spinning on a Hope headset.
The bars are alloy No.7 Drop from Whisky Part Co. SRAM Apex levers handle shifting and stopping and a Spur Cycle bell. The front basket is Wald 137 sitting atop a Soma Porteur Deluxe front rack.
The saddle is an almost broken-in Brooks B17 and the saddlebag is a Swift Industries Catalyst pack.
The pedals are Graphite XX from MKS.
