Kona Ambassador Ben Gerrish recently teamed up with photographer Craig Robinson to capture an image they thought might be worthy of RedBull’s Illume photographic competition. And they thought right! “I had been peering up at this spot as I drove by, for years, but the shonky run-in, busy road, and bike choice have always held me back. Craig hit me up asking if I had any ideas for a photo project for the Red Bull Illume competition, I was running out of excuses, and my single-speed Process 134 build was the one for the job. It has enough rough terrain management combined with the perfect amount of playfulness. It still took a few trips, getting the line, scoping out the sun, and for Craig to get just the right angle. But good things come to those who wait… and who do 8km of sprint reps for the run-up!”
