Finnish Kona Enduro Rider, Samppa Tölli is no stranger. After two seasons racing enduro on a size XL, Kona Process X DL, this year he downsized, a growing trend for riders and racers looking for a more playful feel. Samppa also wanted to experiment with more than just frame size, so he cooked up a custom paint scheme and went with new colors on the bike. This purple / violet paint job is worthy of a Kona Dream Build status. Samppa says he drew inspiration from the 2021 Kona Process 134 Supreme.

The Kona Process X is our long travel, aggressive Enduro machine built for the most challenging trails. Samppa has grown very comfortable with this model over the past few years, so it speaks to the parts spec on this bike when he decided to leave most of the bike stock, except…

…GX 11 speed drivetrain from SRAM, which Tölli says, “it helps keep your budget down when the drivetrain takes a beating during the season and has enough gearing for the pedals.” However, he does rock a SRAM X01 shifter for comfort and smooth shifting.

Based on personal preference, he chose the OneUp V3 remote, and OneUp 170mm post.

The Renthal aluminum 30mm rise handlebars were also swapped from stock on this freshly painted Process X.

Coming stock on the bike, Samppa rolls with DT Swiss 350s, laced to the WTB KOM Trail i30 hoops.

On Samppa’s all-mountain race rig, he went with the RockShox Lyrik Ultimate at 170mm of travel. He says this suspension package gives him, “enough stability and stiffness when Finland’s enduro trails are not so speedy and you have to pedal much.” …

… you’ll find 162mm of travel in the rear with the RockShox Super Deluxe Ultimate, sandwiched inside the purple-people-eater colorway.

For the brake bits, Code RSC with 200mm rotors…

…and rounding out the cockpit, a Kona XC/BC 35 stem, with the classic Kona top cap.

For the tires – Samppa stays stock with an Assegai, and the Minion DHR II, both EXO+ casing.

Thanks for sharing your dream build Samppa, good luck this year!
